The Legacy FC Academy Program is designed for U-8 through U-12 boys and girls who wish to make the transition from recreational to competitive soccer. The program helps develop the technical skills needed to play at the next level. Weekly trainings are designed to enhance the player’s technical abilities, agility, balance, and speed with the ball while building confidence in the player on and off the field.

Coach: Jason Logan

The Academy Program provides a positive learning experience for all players, concentrates on the growth of the individual within the team structure and emphasizes development of technical skills and tactical awareness. It is our belief that teaching players is the priority for long term success and will foster more advanced understanding of the elements necessary to achieve that success. We give players the “freedom to succeed” without the “fear of failure” by encouraging them to take ownership of their decisions in training and games, even at these young ages. This method guarantees that players will develop more confidence and self-esteem but more importantly, ensures fun and enjoyment for the game of soccer.

Club Philosophy

Legacy FC will foster an environment where our players develop a love of soccer that inspires them to continue it as a life-long avenue of healthy enjoyment. We will work to implement a creative, attacking, and possession-style soccer built on a foundation of strong technical skills. In contrast to many other clubs, we will actively aim for more than a “win now” attitude. We will equip our players with the long view in mind, developing this attractive, enjoyable brand of soccer that will enable them to succeed at every level as they progress.

We want to inspire creative play built on weekly improvements in each player’s foundational skill set in coordination with a team ethos that focuses on passing and possession. This means we may lose some games in the short term in pursuit of a greater goal, and players will be given the freedom to grow and learn without wins and losses being the sole standard for evaluation. We will always value and pursue winning games, but not at all costs. If we play our way, with intensity, intelligence, and integrity, we will be building a winning environment that will have far better and longer-lasting, results than what the last scoreboard showed. And this will lead, in time, to the kind of results we want to see. Including wins.

With this in view, mistakes will be inevitable, and games may be won or lost through players trying difficult things, such as building up from the back. But we won’t evaluate our players, teams, or coaches success based purely on game scores, especially in U8–U12 where players develop both physically and technically at much different rates. We invite our community (players, coaches, managers, parents, and other supporters) to embrace a refreshing ethic of positivity and excellence. We have high expectations for our players and coaches, and we ask for our community to partner with us in this aim.

What sets Legacy FC apart is more than just the conduct of our teams, but the culture of our community. What energizes us as a club is not simply winning a game in a moment, but in equipping and inspiring our players to develop into the kind of people for whom excellence is a habit. We believe that will translate into a winning way of life both on and off the field.
